Automating a React Component Library

By Sarah M.

8 March . 2026

How our team used Syntera to generate 40+ reusable React components with tests, Storybook stories, and full documentation in one afternoon.

Getting Started

We started by defining the design system rules, component families, and expected output shape. That gave Syntera a stable foundation to build from.

Tell Syntera the component contract first

List the variants, props, accessibility states, and testing expectations before asking it to generate the library. Start building

"Generate a Button, Input, Modal, and DataTable with typed props, tests, and Storybook stories."

Organizing the Library

Even for a component library, a short plan improves the output. We organized the work into:

  • • Core primitives
  • • Form components
  • • Overlay components
  • • Data display components

Generating Components

Once the plan was approved, Syntera generated the actual implementation layers:

  • • Typed component APIs
  • • Variant handling
  • • Stories and usage examples
Bash
yarn create next-app my-ui --typescript
cd my-ui
yarn dlx storybook@latest init

Auth-Ready Patterns

Authentication wasn't the main focus of this library project, but we still documented auth-ready patterns for protected product surfaces.

  • • Authenticated layout states
  • • Sign-in and sign-up form patterns
  • • Session-aware navigation
  • • Protected empty states

Billing UI Pieces

We also generated reusable billing UI pieces so the library could support SaaS teams shipping checkout and subscription flows.

  • • Pricing table blocks
  • • Checkout summary components
  • • Invoice list layouts
  • • Billing state badges

Publishing the Package

Before publishing, we used Syntera to prepare the package for release:

  • • Build and type checks
  • • Storybook verification
  • • Package exports cleanup
  • • Release notes draft

Conclusion

Syntera is strongest when the design system rules are clear. For component libraries, describing the contract - props, variants, states, and testing expectations - produces near-production-ready output.
